Dr Lisa Weeks
Dr. Lisa Weeks, Naturopathic Doctor, has over 13 years of experience working with moms who struggle with burnout and fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, overwhelm, IBS, fertility challenges, and hormonal imbalances. Her goal is to empower and educate patients to make simple yet effective changes to boost energy, mood, and vitality so that they are able to take back control of their health and life. She also treats infants and kids with digestive concerns, frequent illnesses, and skin rashes.
She has been in practice since 2007 and is a 40-ish perimenopausal mama to her toddler, Stuart. Becoming a mama rocked her world, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. With all the blissful “my-heart-is-going-to-explode” moments also came postpartum anxiety, burnout, extreme fatigue, weight struggles, and PMS-related insomnia (even after Stuart became a good sleeper!).
What helps keep her sane is getting outside for her daily walks, 10 minutes of meditation and journaling after preschool drop-off, dark chocolate, the occasional glass of gluten-free beer or wine, AND watching a bit of trashy reality TV (to her husband’s dismay) to unwind.
Dr. Lisa has training in herbal medicine, nutrition, bio-identical hormones, lifestyle counseling, stress reduction techniques, acupuncture, and Asian medicine. She has a science background and studied human biology at the University of Waterloo. While in school, she traveled around North America, working at various research labs (studying cancer at the BC Cancer Institute, cystic fibrosis at Sick Kids Hospital, and atherosclerosis at Notre Dame University) before she found her calling with Naturopathic Medicine. These experiences gave her the foundation to unite scientific research with Naturopathic therapies and philosophy.
She is also the co-host of the Perimenopausal Mamas podcast and a facilitator for The Wild Collective Toronto, a unique women’s health community initiative that fosters community, connection, and health
